Established by Leon Dogan, our kung fu school is built on Martial Virtues and a promise to our teachers to openly teach and share the benefits of Hung Gar kung fu style with integrity, humility, honesty, respect and devotion. Our Journey
Our Kung Fu school, which began modestly in East London, has since evolved into a remarkable and vibrant institution. Loong Fu Martial Arts was founded in 2004 by Leon Dogan following his return from Hong Kong, where he had the honour of training at the renowned Kung Fu school of the legendary grand master Lam Cho. Initially, Leon taught privately to a small, select group of students in East London. As the school’s reputation grew, demand increased, prompting the use of church halls and community centers to accommodate small group classes. The next milestone was establishing a dedicated martial arts school, making our training accessible to all.
In 2007, we proudly opened our first full-time Kung Fu school to the public in Islington. From its humble beginnings, our school has flourished, growing stronger with each passing year. We have stood the test of time, overcoming countless challenges along the way. Yet, no matter the obstacles, we remain steadfast—never yielding, never backing down.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring thousands of students from diverse backgrounds across the globe. It has been immensely rewarding to witness our younger students grow into strong, successful individuals, parents, and leaders in their fields. Staying true to our commitment, we continue to train and teach with unwavering passion. Our doors remain open to all who have a genuine desire to learn martial arts.
Our Kung Fu School
Our Kung Fu training is open to everyone, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, or religion. If you are willing to empty your cup and leave your ego at the door, you will find the experience both extremly rewarding and transformative.
We practice and teach Lam Family Hung Kuen (林家洪拳), a distinguished branch of Hung Gar (Hung Kuen, 洪家拳), renowned for its powerful, no-nonsense combat effectiveness and its profound benefits for the body, mind, and spirit. With a rich history tracing back to the 17th century, Hung Gar has been a cornerstone of the Lam Family tradition for over two centuries.
Our teacher , Leon Dogan, is a senior disciple and the official UK representative of the renowned Lam Family Hung Kuen. With decades of experience, he has dedicated his life to training and teaching this esteemed martial art across the globe.

At our school, learning is direct and hands-on, using time-tested traditional methods that deliver results. We teach Kung Fu—no sales tactics, no social media theatrics, no gimmicks. Just real training, real progress, every session.
Our purpose-built, full-time Kung Fu school is located in Waltham Cross, North London. Recognized internationally, we also have branch schools in Europe and Asia. Our welcoming classes cater to all ages, with sessions available throughout the week for both adults and children. We also offer one-on-one private lessons at our London location or online, helpingstudents worldwide.
